Datsun recently announced the arrival of the updated Redigo in India. The 2020 Redigo comes with a number of changes to the exterior and interior design. These include new L-shape DRLs, a sleeker headlamp design with silver decoration, LED fog lamps, 14-inch wheels with Pentablade dual-tone wheel cover on the top-end variant, LED signature tail-lamps, and new door trim with fabric. The new Redigo also comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Datsun has also completely reworked the interiors of the Redigo with a dual-tone treatment for the dashboard and a part-digital, part-analogue instrument cluster.

Commenting on the launch, Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, “With the new Datsun Redigo, we have introduced a high-quality product with a strong value proposition. Built with Japanese technology, the new Redigo offers segment-leading technological features that cater to growing ambitions of young India. We aim to enhance the value propositions of Datsun products in line with our mission of enabling progressive mobility.”

As far as the powertrains go, Datsun has stuck to the same engines offered before – The 0.8-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine which produces 54bhp and 72Nm of torque, and the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol motor which produces 67bhp and 91Nm of torque. Both engines are now BS6-compliant and can be had with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, the more powerful 1.0-litre also gets a five-speed AMT as an option.

Other than that, dual airbags, high-speed warning alert, front seatbelt reminder and ABS with EBD come as standard.
