Italian superbike manufacturer Ducati has revamped the Diavel for 2021. This super cruiser continues to charm its riders with its personality, design, naked sport handling, and a thoroughbred engine. While the overall look of the bike remains the same, the biggest change is the 1262cc engine now meets Indian BS6 norms.
Powering both variants of the 2021 Ducati Diavel is a BS6 compliant 1262cc L-twin motor that produces 162bhp and has a peak torque of 129Nm. Ducati states that Diavel’s power output of the newer generation Diavel is 3bhp more than the generation it replaces. The engine is mated to a 6-speed unit, and the Diavel S gets an added two-way Quick Shifter as standard.
Both variants of the power cruiser come with a comprehensive suite of electronic aids such as Bosch Cornering ABS EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Power Launch (DPL) and Cruise Control. Additionally, the bike also gets the “Dragster” mode via the Ducati Power Launch (DPL). Furthermore, riders can also toggle between the bike’s three riding modes – Sport, Touring and Urban. Again, riders can also set up an Individual riding more via their smartphones using the Ducati Link app.
Ducati Diavel 1260 S
While most of the components are identical between both models of the Diavel, the Diavel 1260 S does stand out with some distinctive features. Features like a larger fuel tank, an exposed trellis frame, beefier front forks and a wider 240-section rear tyre. It also gets Ohlins suspension and Brembo M50 Monobloc brakes and a different wheel design as well. Also worth mentioning is that the Diavel 1260 S has a curb weight of 247kgs, which is lighter by 2 kilos than the previous generation.
