Honda has launched the new Africa Twin Adventure Sports in India. The 2021 model would offer a new color option in both DCT and Manual transmission variants. Mechanically, there have been no changes and the Africa Twin Adventure Sports still features a 1,084cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 98bhp and 103Nm. According to Honda, the new Lithium-Ion battery offers 1.6 times longer shelf life and 4 times longer durability in comparison to a conventional battery. It also features a bolt-on aluminum subframe and swingarm (a technology inspired from the “Dakar” machine CRF450R moto-crosser).
The tech has not changed either as you still get the six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that controls Throttle by Wire (TBW) and an expanded 7 level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).
As mentioned above, visually the only change is a new paint scheme. The 2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports features a slim-section seat and high-set handlebars, which along with the 5-stage Adjustable windscreen, adjustable seat, and heated grips ensure a comfortable ride. The bike not only gets Dual LED headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), but it also gets Cornering Lights that automatically illuminate corner blind spots depending on speed and lean angle. Other features include a 24.5 litres, Fully colored Multi-Information Display (MID), 6.5-inch TFT touch screen display with the Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity.
A full range of genuine Honda accessories is available for both variants of the Africa Twin, including the top box, rear carrier, rally step, DCT pedal shifter, fog lamp, fog lamp ATT, visor, and side pipe. The Manual transmission variant is available with the Darkness Black Metallic color, while the DCT variant is available with the Pearl Glare White Tricolor. Honda has commenced the bookings for 2021 Africa Twin Adventure Sports at its premium BigWing Topline dealerships.
