The Czech Republic auto brand Skoda is set to launch its updated 7-seater SUV with fresh styling and feature-rich interiors. The new Kodiaq has already been launched in the international market and will be unveiled in India on January 10. Ahead of its launch, Skoda India has revealed some of the vital features that 2022 Kodiaq will come equipped with.

The new Skoda Kodiaq replaces its 2-litre diesel engine that used to produce around 145bhp. It now gets the most loved engine by all the enthusiasts – BS6 complaint, turbocharged 2-litre petrol engine producing 185bhp and 320Nm of torque. The motor is mated to the 7-speed DSG gearbox powering all four wheels.

On the outside, the Kodiaq gets a little updated styling. It now has a robust body-coloured bumper and front spoiler with a hexagonal grille with chrome surrounds. The car also gets crystalline LED headlights with a retractable headlight washer. It has also got 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and a functional silver roof rails.

2022 Skoda Kodiaq is brimmed with features on the inside. It now receives an 8-inch infotainment system with inbuilt navigation and a wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets Skoda’s new two-spoke steering wheel with a fully programmable 10-inch virtual cockpit. The car receives a 12-way electrically adjustable driver seat with three memory options. Apart from 3-zone climate control, the vehicle also comes equipped with cooled /heated front seats. The car also gets a 12-speaker Canton Sound System and a huge panoramic electric sunroof.

The facelifted Skoda’s flagship SUV  gets an advanced Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) system, which the company claims can easily tackle bad terrains. It will also come with 9-airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control,hill-hold assist and hill-descent control, along with a 360-degree camera and hands-free park assist.

Skoda India has not disclosed the pricing of Kodiaq yet. We presume it to be priced around Rs.35lakhs(ex-showroom), and once launched, it will go up against the new VW Tiguan, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 Aircross.
