The premium SUV segment in India has now welcomed another addition as Lexus has launched the updated 2022 NX 350h SUV in India. The price of the SUV starts at INR 64.90 Lakh for the base variant and shoots all the way up to INR 71.60 Lakh for the top-spec F-Sport variant.  Lexus India had already commenced the bookings for the same back in January.

The new NX 350h is easy on the eyes when it comes to its overall aesthetics, just like its previous iteration. It still screams ‘LEXUS’ but it now gets a sharper look, thanks to the newly-introduced single-piece headlamps. The signature spindle grille has also grown in dimensions. The 2022 Lexus NX 350h also gets a new LED taillight setup which is married to a light bar.

A thoroughly overhauled interior is probably the star of the show and majorly because of a new 14-inch infotainment unit. Physical buttons found on the central console have been eliminated and have made way for a touchpad. Other notable features include customisable ambient lighting, electric-folding rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, 36-degree camera, wireless charging and Head-Up display.

The new Lexus 350h derives its power from a 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle engine that puts down 192hp but the combined power output climbs up to 244hp when you factor in the electric motors as well. Lexus claims that the 350h also has an all-electric range of about 55 kms. All this performance is transmitted to the wheels via a 6-speed e-CVT gearbox.

The new Lexus will have to tread down a treacherous path as it will have to go head-to-head against the new Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC, Volvo XC60 and the BMW X3. Japan and Germany sat at opposite ends of the table during World War I and it seems like they are about to engage in a fierce battle, yet again. Although this time around, we are speaking in strictly automotive terms.
