The wait is finally over as India’s largest automaker finally reveals its facelift Baleno for the Indian market today. Before its official launch, all the speculations and leaked images have stormed on the Internet. Baleno has been an essential product in the Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio since its launch in 2015. Today, the brand has taken wraps off the new generation Baleno, and here is everything you need to know about Baleno.

Exteriors :

Bold is the best word to describe new-age Baleno. Looks and aesthetics are the complete evolution from the outgoing model. It gets a wider grille with a honeycomb pattern, and a brushed silver strip does its job of providing some visual flair upfront. The headlights, too, are redesigned and now receive a new tri-arrow LED DRL setup. The design of the clamshell bonnet appears to be a bit flatter than before. Maruti Suzuki offers the Baleno in six colour options – Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Nexa Blue, Opulent Red and Luxe Beige.

Interiors :

The Facelift seems to be targeting new-age Indian customers who are now obsessed with tech-savvy features. Gone are the days when the combination of beige and black shade used to rule the roost. Manufacturers are now playing with the colour palette to make the cabin of their offerings pop more. The same philosophy has been borrowed by Maruti Suzuki as the facelifted Baleno’s dashboard has a three-layered design- black on top, a silver line running in the middle and dark blue shaded lower section. This layered design of the dashboard certainly makes the Baleno feel fresh.

Heads-up Display is the most prominent segment-first feature of the new-age Baleno. The Baleno also comes with the brand new Suzuki Connect app, which will provide over 40 plus connected tech features. The model also gets an updated and bigger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 360-degree view camera. The surround sound system is sourced from the house of Arkamys . The car also comes with a 360-degree view camera.

Engine and Performance:

The 2022 Baleno gets the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder DualJet K12N petrol engine, which churns out around 89bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. As usual, efficiency has always been a unique selling point of Maruti Suzuki’s brand and sticking true to its USP, the Baleno ditches out 22.35kpl in Manual transmission and 22.94kpl for the AMT version.

Pricing :

The 2022 Baleno comes with four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The pricing for the base variant starts with Rs 6.35 and comes with only manual transmission. The top-end Alpha variant comes with Rs8.99 lakhs for manual transmission and Rs 9.49 lakhs for the AMT version. The prices are pretty competitive, and it is expected to give a tough fight to its rivals
