A Legacy of Soldier with Different Weapons

The frontline – soldiers, police, doctors, nurses, and all those who have no option but to go out to save the world and also fend for themselves and their families, a big salute to them all from TopGear India. My team has been on the ball this month and we’re back in action, having covered and reviewed all major launches along with three supercars, no less.

In a way we automotive journalists are also going out and while trying to be safe, being
outdoors is indeed a risk. But given of our passion for cars, we all have been waiting for WFH to end. More importantly, though in the form of reviewing cars, we also have a responsibility to say so – help potential buyers make the right choice.

WE WILL CONTINUE
TO DO WHAT WE
KNOW BEST – RIDE
AND DRIVE

The already struggling automotive industry employs more than two million people and is a solid pillar for the Indian economy cannot shake any further. So a big salute to all my fellow
automotive journalists. I know that we have a choice to take it easy in these months and put the pedal to the metal only when the time is good and safe, but that’s now how a true auto journo is wired. Not sure what’s in store for next month with an extended lockdown and restrictions, but we will continue to do what we know best – ride and drive.

This month was a busy month as I mentioned and in fact, we did not really feel we are in lockdown mode, with major launches that were stalled due to the lockdown finally
happening, like the new Honda City, Hyundai Verna, BMW X6 and Nissan Kicks Turbo. The cherry on the cake for us were the Ferrari Portofino, Lamborghini Huracan Spyder, and Ferrari 488 Spider. The idea is to give you readers a real escapist read and propel you for the good times to roll with supercars that might not be recent launches but are so endearing while motivating you to buckle up and continue working hard towards
owning these desirable machines one day.

When you hear that 149 COVID-19 vaccines are at an advanced stage of trial and the world’s best brains and billions of dollars are behind it, you know in hindsight we are not very far from shaking hands and embracing each other freely like before. That also pins my hope of driving a V12-engined Italian supercar across the Nockalm Road on the Austrian Alps rather soon. Until that happens, we all need to do what we need to do to stay safe and stay sane.
