Ducati India has begun bookings for the all-new Monster in India. The Italian superbike maker is set to launch the 2021 Monster at our shores in the next few days. Potential customers can book the upcoming motorcycle by paying a booking amount of Rs 1 lakh.
Powering the all-new Monster is a 937cc liquid-cooled L-Twin engine that produces 111bhp and 93Nm of torque mated to a six-speed gearbox that offers a bi-directional quick-shifter as standard. Also new on the 2021 Monster is the frame which is now made of aluminium instead of the older steel trellis frame.
Compared to the older generation, the bike is lighter with a dry weight of 166 kg, which is a massive 18 kilograms lesser than that before. The motorcycle gets 43 mm upside-down forks with 130 mm travel and an adjustable mono-shock at the rear with 140 mm travel. It also gets redesigned 17-inch alloy wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso III rubber, 120/70 upfront and 180/55 at the rear. Up front it gets twin Brembo M4.32 4-piston monobloc callipers that grip two 320 mm discs. At the rear, the bike gets a single 245 mm disc gripped by a Brembo calliper. At the front brake, it features sintered brake pads.
Ducati had earlier showcased the all-new Monster globally back in December 2020. Compared to the previous generation, the bike has received quite a lot of new tech and goodies such as lean-sensitive traction control and ABS and wheelie control and three ride modes – Urban, Touring and Sport. These can be accessed via the new 4.3-inch TFT display.
As for the pricing, Ducati hasn’t announced the prices for the all-new Monster. Once it launches, it will face competition from the Kawasaki Z900, BMW F900 R and the Triumph Street Triple R.
