Thanks to the recent announcement of the Fame II subsidy rates, electric two-wheelers have gotten a much-needed price cut. Especially in the case of Ather 450X and 450 Plus. Just last week, Ather Energy laid out further plans for the near future, which could their electric scooters even more lucrative offer. First up, they inaugurated a new experience centre at Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi. This is the 10th Ather Space to pop around the country, just in case you’re curious. Ather has already opened up experience centres in Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kochi, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad. It’s already been about three years since Ather opened its first-ever Ather Space.
This works out quite well for the homegrown brand as Delhi offers the highest subsidies on electric vehicles as well as additional breaks on road tax and registration fees. Result – Ather Energy will offer its flagship Ather 450X and 450 plus at its lowest prices in Delhi. The company has already commenced deliveries of the Ather 450X in Delhi during April and is currently in the process of setting up public fast-charging points across the city. Thus far, Ather has set up 14 fast-charging points, Ather Grid, across key hotspots in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad. They aim to double the number of charging stations by the end of this year. The fast-charging points in Delhi are available in locations like Green Park, Dilshad Garden, Krishna Nagar and Connaught Place.
As we mentioned earlier, Fame II revisions have further reduced the prices of all-electric two-wheelers, with a 50 percent increase in the subsidy. FYI, The (ex-showroom) price of the Ather 450X and 450 Plus in Delhi is Rs 1.33 lakh and Rs 1.14 lakh, respectively. Furthermore, Ather Energy will be expanding its manufacturing for the next years given the massive amounts of investments they have been receiving consistently. Officials from the brand also stated that there will be more variants of the 450 and a new product in the scooter line-up as well. But, if you’ve been waiting for an Ather electric motorcycle, don’t hold your breath. That will only happen after a couple of years, at least, as Ather Energy plans to concentrate solely on their scooters offerings in the near future.
