After the long wait, Audi India has finally launched the entry-level Q-series SUV in India. Before you start guessing the name, let me break the mystery. Audi Q2 has been launched in India, starting at Rs 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Q2 will be Audi’s smallest and the most affordable Q-series SUV in India. The Q2 will be available in 5 different variants, in two major trims-Advance Trim and Design Trim.
The Audi Q2 will be available in India, through a complete CBU route. As mentioned earlier, the base model starts at Rs 34.99 lakh, and up to Rs 48.89 lakh for the top-spec Audi Q2 Technology trim.
The Audi Q2 comes with the same 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, with Audi Quattro all-wheel-drive as standard. This helps the SUV produce 190bhp of power and 320Nm of torque.
The Audi Q2 is based on the Volkswagen group’s MQB platform, which makes it 4,191mm long, 1,794mm wide, and 1,508mm tall. The SUV comes with a wheelbase of 2,601mm. Being half the size of its competitors, like the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the BMW X1. The Audi Q2 has no proper competition in the Indian markets and stands to be the fifth convincing launch from Audi this year.
Although, the Q2 misses on some features like the rear AC vents and electrically adjustable seats. It does manage to pack on some features like Audi’s Virtual cockpit, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, MMI interface, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless charging, 180 watt 10-speaker audio system, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay connectivity, to name a few.
Audi is also offering an introductory offer, which includes- a five-year maintenance package, a 2+3 year extended warranty package and 2+3 years of road-assistance is included in the booking amount. With some key differentiating features like leatherette seats, dual-zone climate control, sunroof, ambient lighting, LED headlights, and a reverse camera. We find the Audi Q2, an interesting package for the Q-series enthusiasts.
