Benelli India has launched the BS6-compliant Imperiale 400 at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Like before, the Benelli Imperiale 400 comes in three colours – silver, red and black. The company has opened booking for the BS6-compliant Imperiale 400 for Rs 6,000. This can be done at Benelli dealerships or online. Deliveries will begin from the first week of August.
Furthermore, Benelli is offering the Imperiale 400 with a three-year standard warranty (unlimited kilometres). Also, there’s complimentary service for the first two years, which covers five periodic maintenance services. For those who may not know, the Imperiale 400 recalls the Pesaro based brand’s heritage and is a reinterpretation of the historic model of the Benelli-MotoBi range of the 1950s.
On the powertrain front, the Imperiale 400 comes with a SOHC, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled BS6 motor with electronic fuel injection. It now produces 20.7bhp@6000rpm and 29Nm@3500rpm, which has been slightly reworked from its BS4-counterpart. It still comes mated to a five-speed transmission. Weight also remains the same at 205 kgs.
The Imperiale 400 comes with dual-channel ABS as standard. More importantly, there’s been quite a significant increase in price from when the Imperiale 400 was first launched at Rs 1.69 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of competition, the Imperiale 400 goes up against the Jawa and Royal Enfield Classic.
