The Indian mobility revolution is at a transformative stage wherein relying on electric mobility currently would be less pragmatic. And yes, emitting smoke isn’t a viable option to get the business done. So, to tackle this mysterious common problem, Pune-based Blue Energy Motors launches India’s first LNG-fuelled trucks with a vision to provide mature, versatile and profitable transportation solutions.

Blue Energy Motors launches the 5528 4×2 truck as their first model. The truck uses FPT Industrial multipoint stoichiometric combustion engine to ensure best-in-class fuel consumption and lower noise than diesel engines. Blue Energy Motors asserts 40 per cent better fuel efficiency and 30 per cent noise reduction in fuel consumption and noise. Moreover, using LNG as a source of fuel will reduce SOx by 100 per cent and NOx by 59 per cent. The truck produces 280hp power and 1000Nm torque. It is one of the most potent natural gas trucks on the Indian market, which is also compatible with CNG, LNG, and biomethane.

The company has installed capacity to produce 10,000 trucks/annum, which can be augmented further as the ecosystem matures and demand ramps. Moreover, they will venture into electric trucks once the infrastructure is capable. But for now, they will focus on LNG trucks. Their 5528 4×2 truck has the industry’s first 1000-lt fuel tank, which provides a range of up to 1400 km in a single fill. The gas-based economy is projected to grow from 6 per cent to 15 per cent by 2030, wherein LNG can save foreign exchange by $200m/MTPA. Blue Energy Motors believes LNG terminal facilities are already in place and expect to have 1000 LNG retail outlets in the next five years.

“India’s first LNG truck, which we launched today, is our first step towards pioneering the green trucking revolution. We at Blue Energy Motors aim to decarbonize the environment by providing an immediate solution and breaking the barriers of economic returns”, says Mr. Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors
