Both the R 1250 GS Pro and R 1250 GS Adventure Pro are powered by the same 1254cc 2-cylinder in-line Boxer engine producing a power output of 134bhp and generates a maximum torque of 143 Nm at 6,250 rpm. Furthermore, both motorcycles are equipped with Pro riding modes. With the two ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ riding modes, the riding characteristics can be adapted to varied conditions. A standard ‘Eco’ riding mode is also available. Additionally, pro riding modes include Dynamic, Dynamic Pro, Enduro and Enduro Pro, with the ‘Dynamic Pro’ and ‘Enduro Pro’ allowing riders to customise those modes to their requirement. The optional Electronic Dynamic ESA improves on riding safety, performance and comfort thanks to automatic and adaptive damping depending on the riding conditions and manoeuvres.

Both bikes look the same as their predecessors. Instead, they are offered with new optional colours: Style Triple Black and Style Rallye. The former blends blackstorm metallic/black/agate grey colours and gets several blacked-out components. At the same time, the latter uses light white/racing blue metallic/racing red colours for that extra bit of sportiness. BMW has also introduced a ’40 Years GS’ liveries for both models. They come in a yellow/black paint scheme, graphics, yellow-tinted visor, yellow seat, engine guard, and golden spoke wheels.
