500 of these sinister-looking X7’s are being made available worldwide. Based on the X Series flagship M50d, this blacked-out SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle, as BMW calls it) combines a striking appearance with the brand’s hallmark sporty flair.
Catering to customers who like customisation and individuality, the edition model comes especially finished in Frozen Arctic Grey. It’s the first X to wear this colour, which BMW states will be introduced to more X models.
This expressive paint finish is supplemented with High Gloss Shadow Line features. Black chrome is draped around window surrounds, covers of the B and C columns and the exterior mirror bases. Did BMW miss anything? Oh yes, the grille too. Wait, the tailpipes as well.
Another exclusive feature of the Dark Shadow is the 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with a Jet Black matt finish. Then there’s the superior performance of the engine which is accompanied by the emotionally powerful sound of the M sports exhaust system bundled with the M Sport Package.
Exclusivity flows on the inside too. There’s a M leather steering wheel, Merino leather upholstery, and a ‘Night Blue’ Alcantara finished roofline. Additionally, Fineline Black with aluminium inlays contribute to the fascinating aura of the edition model’s interior. And just incase these weren’t enough additions for you, BMW has placed an edition logo on the centre console area. This brings us to the pricing. The X7 Range starts at Rs 95.90 lakh, ex-showroom, India for the xDrive30d DPE spec. The Dark Shadow is, well, more than double of it. Rs 2.02 Crore, ex-showroom. Imposing, checked. Exclusivity. Checked. Acoustic delight. Checked. Capable of denting your bank account? Not as much for a select few but surely, yes.
