Jaguar Land Rover India has announced that potential customers can now start booking the all-new Jaguar F-Pace in India from today onwards. Bookings have begun via Jaguar Land Rover dealerships or their official website. Also, JLR has confirmed that the F-Pace will be in R-Dynamic S trim in petrol and diesel powertrains, and deliveries will begin from May 2021.
Compared to the previous generation, on the exterior, the F-Pace is nearly identical apart from the LED headlights, which has split day time running lights similar to the XJL. The most significant changes are on the interiors. Instead of the physical buttons for the temperature controls, the F-Pace has a similar setup that we see on other JLR models such as the Discovery Sport or the Velar. Also, the gear stick is now sleeker and smaller compared to the older generation.
Although the engines and powertrains aren’t confirmed, we can state that the F-Pace could be offered with either a petrol or diesel engine, which would be 2.0-litres. In the petrol guise, the F-Pace is expected to produce 247bhp and 350Nm, while the diesel motor would have 201bhp and 430Nm while also offering mild-hybrid technology. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to all four wheels.
Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India, said, “In its latest avatar, the new Jaguar F-PACE’s standout design contours, exhilarating performance and a more luxurious and connected experience is bound to captivate many many hearts in India.”
Prices for the F-Pace aren’t announced yet. Still, we can expect it to cost nearly the same as it did before, which was around the Rs 62 lakh to Rs 70 lakh mark (ex-showroom) and will face some tough competition from the likes of the newly launched Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3 and also the Volvo XC60 which too is set to be revamped soon.
