Missed out on the opportunity to lay your hands on the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa that was launched back in the month of April? Suzuki has heard our pleads and have reopened the bookings for the 2021 Hayabusa after temporarily closing the bookings after the initial 101 units of the superbike sold out in just two days. (Literal definition of selling like hotcakes!). By paying the booking amount of Rs 1 lakh, prospective buyers can confirm their slot for the next set of the all-new Hayabusas’ to enter India.
If you didn’t already know, Suzuki fully updated the 2021 Hayabusa after near 13 years of its life cycle, and naturally, things have changed. The 1,340cc, four-cylinder motor produces a maximum power output of 187bhp and produces 150Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed transmission. Surprisingly, the power and torque figures of the current generation Hayabusa are 6bhp and 5Nm lower than that of the generation it replaces. That being said, the boffins at Suzuki claim that the updated Hayabusa is still the quickest it’s ever been. The 2021 Hayabusa has a claimed top speed of 306km/h.
Suzuki has also significantly updated the electronics and braking systems on the 2021 Hayabusa. A lighter exhaust system also means that the updated Hayabusa has shed two kilograms of weight (264 kilograms). Moreover, a new LED headlight and a TFT display next to the good ol’ analogue instrument cluster.
The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa still carries its price tag of Rs 16.4 lakh, making it a tad more expensive than the generation it succeeds. However, since its launch, the Hayabusa has always had captivated Indian buyers, and many kids would dream of owning or riding a Hayabusa one day. This superbike created a much more considerable hype than many other superbikes sold in India, and the speed at which the new generation sold in India shows that the hype for the Hayabusa is still real.
