Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) has added the new Corolla Cross compact SUV to its Corolla series to suit the growing demand of SUVs. While the exteriors express a strong sense of sportiness and robustness, the interiors stand out with spacious room that offer excellent comfort and a vast and highly adjustable luggage capacity of up to 487 litres.
The TNGA platform has enabled the Corolla Cross to achieve high-quality performance, a comfortable ride and outstanding quietness. In addition to its exceptional comfort, the Corolla Cross provides a spacious cabin, easy entry into and exit from the car, vast luggage space suitable for all scenarios and safety equipment inherited from the Corolla series. In this way, the new model realizes comfort, utility, and peace of mind for customers.
Prominent new features include a power moonroof, LED headlights and taillights, new Terra Rossa red shade for the interiors color, dual-zone automatic climate control and a power back door with activated kick sensor.
The Corolla Cross is available in Thailand with a 1.8-litre petrol engine that can also be opted with a hybrid system. The petrol engine produces 136bhp of peak power and 177Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a CVT transmission. The 4th generation hybrid system with a 600-volt electric motor churns out 71bhp and works in conjunction with the 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 96bhp and 142 Nm of peak torque.
Toyota will be launching the compact SUV in a number of markets going forward. Do you think this should come to India as well?
