After a successful launch of its first BS6 bike Panigale V2, in the Indian markets. Ducati is now ready for its second BS6/Euro5 compliant offering, and this time it will be the new Scrambler. The teaser image posted on Ducati’s official social media handles reveals a headlamp, with the typical X-shape design, which is the identity of the Scrambler. With this, the company is now expected to launch the BS6 compliant Scrambler 800 and Scrambler 1100 range in the Indian markets.
Now, the question arises, as to which one out of the duo will arrive first. As per the reports, the Scrambler 800 is yet to receive Euro5 certification, which makes everyone believe that the Italian giant will first launch the Scrambler 1100 in the India market. The bike might arrive in two variants, the Scrambler 1100 Pro and also a Sport Pro variant.
Interestingly, both the Ducati Scrambler 1100 variants are based on the same platform and they even share the same trellis frame, along with Euro 5/BS6 compliant engine. The bikes come with a 1079cc, air-cooled, L-Twin motor, which produces 86bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 88Nm of torque at 4,750rpm. Also, in order to meet with the emission norms, the new Scrambler Pros will come with a revised exhaust system. On the performance front, the bike gets three riding modes: Active, Journey and City. Other electronic features include four-stage traction control and cornering ABS. On the design front, the new Scrambler 1100s get revised graphics, a new paint job, a new twin exhaust setup, and also updated seats and tail section consisting of a shorter rear fender and lower number plate holder. On the other hand, apart from all the above mentioned features, the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro variant comes with a flatter handlebar with bar-end mirrors and Ohlin’s suspension, while the Scrambler 1100 Pro, gets a Marzocchi front fork and Kayaba mono-shock.
Both motorcycles will get Brembo brakes and Pirelli MT60 RS tyres specially developed for the Scrambler 1100. Prices of the BS4 Scrambler began at Rs 10.91 lakh for the base Scrambler 1100 in India. It is now expected that the BS6 Scrambler 1100 Pro and BS6 Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro would have a price tag, upwards INR 12 lakh and INR 13.5 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Stay tuned for the sale of this duo in the coming weeks.
