Citroën has rolled out the first locally produced C5 Aircross SUV from the automaker’s manufacturing plant in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. The C5 Aircross will be the first SUV offered from the French company’s portfolio sold in India. Citroën is expected to officially launch the C5 Aircross on the 1st of February.
Citroën also emphases on some key elements on the upcoming C5 Aircross such as a hydraulic cushion suspension system, an acoustic windscreen and front windows, 3 way adjustable seats with memory foam, a foot operated electric tailgate and a panoramic sunroof for the top trim. The SUV is also set to come with multiple driver aids like a blind spot monitoring system, auto parking assist and traction control with multiple terrain response. The C5 Aircross is set to launch with a 2-litre diesel engine mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

When it launches, it is expected to compete with the likes of the newly launched Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson both which are mid-sized SUVs which offer all-wheel-drive variants.
