Remember John Wick upgrading his arsenal with all kinds of ammunition before a big brawl? Seems like Maruti Suzuki has taken a page out of that book when it comes to the upcoming next-gen Baleno. Its adversaries are more competent and feature-loaded than ever, take the Hyundai i20 for instance. Maruti has understood the assignment that if it really wants to usurp the king, it will have to load the Baleno with some never-seen-before features in its segment.

Rolling out teasers to build up hype for their upcoming products is a tested formula being applied by countless manufacturers. Maruti Suzuki is treading on the same path and has rolled out yet another teaser for the upcoming Baleno. Let’s take a look at all the features that have been teased so far:

360-degree Camera

The latest teased feature that has caused a splash is a 360-degree camera. Maruti is looking forward to turning things around with the new Baleno and that being said, it is going to be the first time that a car from Maruti’s stable is going to come equipped with a 360-degree camera.

9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit

Maruti Suzuki has also revealed that the upcoming Baleno is going to benefit from an updated and bigger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit as well. The bigger real estate is indeed going to be a welcome addition. It is also going to come equipped with smartphone connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The surround sound system is going to be sourced from the house of Arkamys.

Head-up Display

The upcoming Baleno is also going to be the first hatchback in its segment to feature a head-up display (HUD).

All these features are going to spice up the otherwise bland dish that Baleno has turned out to be in recent times. The new Baleno will most likely be powered by the same engines: a 1.2-litre VVT petrol unit and a 1.2-litre Dualjet motor. The former puts down 82 bhp and 113 Nm of max torque while the Dualjet engine churns out 89 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. As we have already seen in the new Swift, Maruti could also equip the Baleno with an AMT unit instead of retaining the current model’s CVT unit.
