After recently launching the slightly sportier version of the CB350 H’Ness, Honda is continuing its onslaught of products in our market. We’ve received word that the CB500X has been launched in the country, for a price of Rs 6.87 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram). In case you aren’t in the know, the CB500X is the company’s ‘compact adventurer’, as per the official press release. Furthermore, Honda has informed us that parallel-twin powered ADV will make its way here through the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. If this a sign of things to come from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, things will only get more interesting from here on out.

First things first, the CB500X is powered by a 471cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which churns out 46.8-bhp and 43.2-Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and has the added benefit of an ‘Assist/Slipper Clutch’ at hand. The CB500X gets a diamond-shaped steel-tube mainframe, with 181mm of ground clearance. The seat height sits at a comfortable 830mm, and the middleweight ADV is shod in 19-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels, at the front and rear, respectively. Other than that, the CB500X rides on 41mm front forks, while the rear gets a nine-stage adjustable mono-shock.

Other features include LED lights all around, a larger windscreen, dual-channel ABS, ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) and a negative LCD screen that relays a variety of useful information. It’s important to note that Honda has stated that the bike in the picture above might be different from the product on display at the showrooms. Also, deliveries for the CB500X have commenced from today as well. All that remains now is to get out it on the open road as soon as possible!
