Hyundai Motor India has announced that their all-new Hyundai Alcazar has received over 11,000 bookings in just under a month of its launch. Hyundai state that they have already delivered over 5600 units of the Alcazar since its launch on the 18th of June 2021. Over one-third of the customers opt for the top-spec Signature variant, and the diesel powertrains contribute to 63% of the overall bookings.
The Hyundai Alcazar is offered with two powertrain options – a new 2.0-litre petrol engine and the 1.5-litre diesel engine found in the Creta. Potential buyers can also choose between a 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic in both engine options across all the trim levels. Customers have three trim levels to choose from entry spec Prestige, mid-spec Platinum and the top-spec Signature. The Prestige and Signature can be had in 6 or 7-seat layouts depending on the engine and gearbox combination. At the same time, the fully-loaded Signature is purely a 6 seater.
Commenting on the performance of the remarkable booking, Mr Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “Hyundai ALCAZAR has received an overwhelming response from customers with over 11 000 Bookings received in less than a month since its launch. This superlative response showcases our customer’s affinity towards a high value, versatile and premium package that Hyundai ALCAZAR epitomizes perfectly. We are truly humbled and grateful to our customers who have chosen to live the Grand life with the Hyundai ALCAZAR.”
Mr Garg added, “So far we have already sold over 5 600 units of Hyundai ALCAZAR in the market and with the addition of this 6 & 7 Seater SUV to our line up, we are now offering our valued Indian Customers a stellar range of multiple SUVs which will help us to further fortify our SUV leadership in India.”
In terms of competition, the Hyundai Alcazar competes against the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the Mahindra XUV500. Compared to its competitors, the Alcazar does seem to offer plenty of more features but that could change with the launch of the upcoming XUV700 due next month.
