In India, Hyundai boast of being the most significant SUV maker. Its SUV portfolio consists of the Venue, Creta, Tuscon, Kona EV and the newly launched Alcazar. In comparison to June 2020, the Korean automaker has increased its overall sales numbers by 89.9%. Their sales numbers for June last year was 26,820 units, whereas, for the month of June 2021, Hyundai has registered a cumulative sales of 54 474 units. On the other hand, the exports in June 2020 were 5,500 units compared to 13,978 units in June 2021 which in total sees an overall growth of 103.1% for June 2021.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Tarun Garg, Director of Sales, Marketing and Service, Hyundai, said, “With markets opening up and improvement in customer sentiments, Hyundai is committed to deliver innovative and world class quality products and services meeting and exceeding customers aspirations. The newly launched Hyundai ALCAZAR has been receiving tremendous customer and media response setting some new benchmarks in the industry. The June month saw HMIL creating another milestone of producing the fastest 10 million cars in India since inception, an achievement we are immensely proud of.”

In India, the Hyundai portfolio consists of the Santro, Grand i10 Nios, i20, Aura, Venue, Verna, Creta, Elantra, Tucson and the Kona electric. In addition, as mentioned above, the Korean automaker also launched their mid-sized SUV, the Alcazar, in India. The Alcazar has already gained decent popularity and has achieved to receive over 4000 bookings on the day of its launch itself. The Alcazar is priced between Rs 16.03 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) in terms of pricing.
