2022 Hyundai Tucson is well on its way to establishing itself as a successful Hollywood star. After its recent appearance in the super-popular Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tucson is all set to make its second appearance on the screen. The Korean carmaker’s premium midsize SUV is all set to mark its entry as the Beast in Sony Pictures’ next outing: The Uncharted.

Now that some of the pictures have found their way on the internet, it is safe to conclude that Tucson looks a lot different. The SUV was relatively stock in the Spider-Man movie but now it has to justify its ‘The Beast’ moniker. To ensure it’s befitting of its Beast name, several modifications have been introduced. This has been made possible by the blood and sweat put in by Hyundai’s Technical Centre in Irvine. Hyundai’s team joined forces with Sony Pictures to make the concept prototype look like it is ready to take on the ‘Uncharted’ territories.

Modifications

Coming to the changes it has received over the stock Tucson, ‘The Beast’ now entails fortified bumpers and a whole lot of body cladding that certainly beef up the design. Other modifications include a protective bull bar at the front and extra LED bars. To make sure it doesn’t feel out of place when the tarmac ends, it also gets chunky off-road spec tires and a snorkel. The suspension also looks a bit jacked up to increase the overall ground clearance. The black-finished steel wheels are shod in Nitto A/T tires by Toyo.

Official Statement

Here’s what Thomas Schemera, Executive Vice President, Global Chief Marketing Officer, and Head of Customer Experience Division of Hyundai Motor Company has to say: “The all-new Tucson is a highly capable SUV that is up for the challenge of a treasure-hunting adventure. ‘Uncharted’ is a property with millions of fans around the world and we are excited to showcase the capabilities and technologies of our vehicles in ways that are creative and fitting to the Sony Pictures film. Our recent collaboration with ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ was a tremendous success in promoting the Ioniq 5 and Tucson, and we look forward to building on that momentum with ‘Uncharted’.

The ’Uncharted’ by Sony Pictures is set to hit the theatres on February 11 in the UK and on February 18 in the US.
