Hyundai launches Venue with iMT technology, introduces new Sport variant

Hyundai Motor India has launched the Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) and introduced a ‘Sport’ trim for the Venue. Prices for the iMT equipped Venue start at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) while the price for the Sport trim start at Rs 10.20 lakh (ex-showroom) and top out at Rs 11.53 lakh (ex-showroom). There’s also a new S+ variant for the BS6-compliant Kappa 1.2-litre petrol engine equipped Venue, which is priced at Rs 8.32 lakh (ex-showroom).

With this, we are once again setting new standards for the industry that will enhance Customer Delight and revolutionize the way India Drives.”

Hyundai is offering the new clutch pedal free iMT technology on its BS6-compliant Kappa 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine. This motor will come mated to a six-speed manual transmission that features an electromechanically actuated clutch. Hyundai’s iMT technology features a Transmission Gear Shift (TGS) Lever with Intention Sensor, Hydraulic Actuator and Transmission Control Unit (TCU). Furthermore, the new Sport trim in Venue is offered with Hyundai’s BS6-compliant 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine (six-speed manual) as well as BS6-compliant Kappa 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine (iMT or seven-speed DCT).

The Sport trim in Venue gets unique distinguishing features to set it apart from the other variants. For example, there are red inserts all around the exterior along with red brake callipers and more. On the inside, there’s red stitching on the seats, metal foot pedals, D-cut steering, dark grey upholstery and red accents on the AC controls. Additionally, Hyundai has added paddle shifters to Sport trim as well for Kappa 1.0-litre T-GDi mated to seven-speed DCT that is available on SX+ trim. The Korean auto giants have also introduced a new dual-tone Titan Grey with Phantom Black roof colour option. Additionally, Sport Trim is also available in dual-tone Polar White with Phantom Black roof.

That’s not all, the company has also introduced new trims [SX and SX(O)] for the Venue powered by Kappa 1.0-litre T-GDi with iMT. Owing to strong customer demand, the company has also launched a new S+ Trim on Venue with BS6-compliant Kappa 1.2-litre petrol engine with five-speed manual transmission. This new variant will feature projector headlamps & projector fog lamp, LED tail lamps and 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
