Bentley’s go-anywhere luxury SUV gets sportier! With the announcement of the Bentayga S, the brand has added an extra sporting agility to the Bentayga family. This also marks the first “S” badged Bentayga since its launch in 2015.
Building on Bentley’s established ‘S’ brand, the racy Bentayga provides an even more engaging drive with Bentley’s Dynamic Ride active anti-roll control fitted as standard and an enhanced Sports chassis mode. A 15 percent increase in damping stiffens the chassis and provides a platform for a more dynamic SPORT mode ESC tune.
While the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 puts out performance similar to the standard variant, (542bhp and 770Nm of torque), the addition of a free-flowing performance exhaust system ensures better aural performance and slightly better breathing. With a claimed a 0-100kmph time of 4.5sec and a top speed of 290kmph, the Bentayga S is just 0.6sec and around 16kmph shy of the 6.0-litre W12-powered Bentayga Speed, which Bentley claims is the world’s fastest SUV.
Visually, the Bentayga S benefits from blacked-out styling bits and newly designed 22-inch wheels made available in three distinctive finishes. The profile has increased presence due to the larger rear spoiler, gloss black side sills and lower bumpers. Dark tint lenses to headlamps and tail lamps, black door mirrors and black split oval tailpipes complete the striking exterior.
Inside a luxuriously refined cabin, customers will benefit from new seats, unique stitching, a new color split and Alcantara to reflect the striking exterior and increased dynamic ability. Colour accents are featured on the instrument panel, center console, door pads and seat bolster as well.
Competing with the suave and performance of the Bentayga S are variants from Range Rover, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS and the more expensive Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
