Last year when Jeep brought the heavily-revamped Compass to our shores, its more off-road focused Trailhawk counterpart was omitted from the lineup. Without delaying its arrival even further, Jeep has now launched the updated Compass Trailhawk at INR 30.72 Lakh (introductory ex-showroom).
The Trailhawk bears a special moniker and has enough differences to set itself apart from the standard variants. The aesthetic differences serve some purpose too. Take the front and rear bumper for instance, which are not only slightly redesigned but also boost the approach and departure angles.
As seen in its previous iteration, the Compass Trailhawk retains the exclusive black decal on the hood to let the driver know that it is no regular Compass. The Trailhawk also receives new 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels which come shod with all-terrain hoops and ‘trail-rated’ badges.
Step inside and you will instantly get familiarized with the cabin because the Trailhawk retains all the goodies from the top-spec Compass. The standard Compass received a thorough makeover last year and major changes were reserved for the interior.
The Trailhawk retains the facelifted Compass’ 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, panoramic sunroof, 10.2-inch fully digital instrument console, dual-zone climate control, 360-degree camera and powered tailgate. Exclusive to the Trailhawk bits include selec-terrain drive modes with rock mode, dynamic steering torque, and frequency selective damping suspension.
Powering the Compass Trailhawk is the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. This motor is married to a nine-speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels via the 4×4 system.
