Mahindra&Mahindra has geared up lately not just to rule the SUV market with its new generation XUV700, Thar and Scorpio-N. But, it also intends to electrify its portfolio with the new-age electric SUVs. Mahindra has unveiled its dedicated INGLO EV platform and showcased its five e-SUVs under two EV brands. The Mahindra XUV sub-brand features XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 SUVs based on the current ICE XUV design philosophy. In contrast, the Mahindra BE sub-brand gets three SUVs- BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09. Mahindra & Mahindra has also signed an agreement with the VW group to develop the supply chain of MEB Electric Components for Mahindra’s new Electric SUVs.Moreover, Both companies will also explore further potential opportunities for collaboration in India in the field of e-mobility, including vehicle projects, charging and energy solutions and cell manufacturing. All these 5 SUVs are expected to launch between 2024 and 2026.

Mahindra XUV.e8 and XUV.e9

As the name suggests, the Mahindra XUV e-SUVs get a design language similar to XUV700. The XUV.e8 is the first e-SUV expected to land on our shores by December 2024. It will come in an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) option with a battery capacity of up to 80kWh. The power figures will vary from 225-345 hp. The XUV.e8 is 4740mm long, 1900mm wide, and 1760mm tall with a wheelbase of 2762 mm.

On the other hand, XUV.e9 is a coupe SUV which is 50mm longer and just 5mm wider than XUV.e8, with a length of 4790mm, a width of 1905mm and a height of 1690mm. The wheelbase of XUV.e9 is  2775 mm. XUV.e9 is expected to borrow powertrain options from XUV.e8.The XUV.e9 will be launching in April 2025.

Mahindra BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09

Mahindra claims BE.05 as a Sports Electric Vehicle (SEV). With the racing-inspired coupe SUV design language, BE.05 is expected to make a category in itself. The BE.05 is 4370mm long,1900mm wide and 1635 tall. It has a Wheelbase of 2775 mm. The BE.05 is expected to launch in October 2025.

Mahindra BE.07 is boxy shaped family-centric SUV which will arrive in India by October 2026. The wheelbase of BE.07 is similar to that of BE.05 at 2775mm. The dimensions of BE.07 stand at 4565mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1660mm in height.

Lastly, the BE.09 is the flagship e-SUV under BE range. However, Mahindra hasn’t revealed any specific data about its dimensions and launch date. Mahindra claims the initial idea and design for the five electric SUVs are based on Mahindra’s core philosophy – Rise for Good and the three brand pillars it represents – accepting no limits, alternative thinking and driving positive change.
