Mercedes-Benz EQC launched at Rs 99.30 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has launched their first all-electric SUV, the EQC at Rs 99.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India). These, however, are introductory prices for the first 50 customers only.
The EQC is the first luxury-SUV to get the EV badge in India and is one that combines cutting-edge technology and impeccable luxury worthy of the three-pointed star.
There is only one trim on offer; however, you do get plenty of kit worthy of that hefty price tag.
The design leans towards a more subtle and plush look rather than a traditional EV design which is loud and futuristic.
Based on the GLC platform, the EQC shares the wheelbase with the GLC but is longer and even wider, giving it a better road presence.
Powering the EQC are two asynchronous motors with a combined output of 80kWh that give the EQC a claimed range of 450+km. You also get five regen modes and three options for recharging the battery.
The first being the 50kWh DC fast charger that jolts up the EQC from 10-100% in just 90 mins. Then you have the more conventional and even practical 7.4kWh AC wallbox charger that takes just 10 hours for 10-100% charge and lastly, you also get a 2.4kWh three-pin plug that can be used to charge the EQC by the traditional three-pin socket at your house. Be ready to wait for 21 hours though.
The EQC will available at the dealerships in only six cities as part of a phased launch. These cities include – Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai.
However, if you aren’t part of these but still want to buy one, you can order one online via the Mercedes-Benz website.
The EQC is only the first EV and by 2022, we can expect ten more models with the EQ badge.
