After recommencing production in Pune, Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed they would be launching the AMG C63 Coupe and the AMG GT R digitally on May 27. The brand says they are excited to resume operations with full throttle after the brief pause, and we couldn’t be happier to hear two new AMG hotshots entering our shores.

The 4.0-litre V8 Biturbo on the AMG C63 Coupe produces 469bhp and 650Nm of torque, attaining a 0-100kmph sprint time of four seconds (claimed). The four-seater sports coupe is one of the most powerful car form the compact-luxury car segment, and comes with enough grunt to keep you entertained while your commute.

AMG GT R powertrain retains the same cubic capacity but with its heavily re-worked engine internals it produces 576bhp and 700Nm of torque, propelling if from 0-100kmph in 3.6 seconds (claimed), powering all four wheels through a seven-speed DCT gearbox. This is a proper intimidating machine- especially with its fat, wide and low stance and aggressiveness. The trans-axle setup means the engine and gearbox sit separately, while being connected by a driveshaft. Mercedes-Benz has packed the GTR with loads of technology and enhancements- making it a great track car as well and an equally good road car too.
Following the new normal of social distancing, Mercedes-Benz India will be e-launching the two AMGs through their ‘Consultation Studio’ app. Stay tuned for updates!
