MG Motor India has converted their Hector Plus into a Covid-19 mobile testing unit. It will be used as a Dhanvantari Rath for Covid-19 vaccination, testing, and other mobile healthcare services in Gujarat. The Hector Plus will be used by medical professionals for RTPCR test sample collections and help execute the vaccination drives in remote locations across Gujarat.
The first Hector Plus Covid-19 mobile testing unit was handed over to the Executive Magistrate & Mamlatdar Halol. Plenty of dignitaries of the state were present at this handoff, including Shri Jaydrathsinhji Parmar, Hon. Minister of State for Panchayat, Environment and Agriculture, Government of Gujarat and MLA Halol, Shri Amit Arora IAS Dist. Magistrate and Collector Panchmahal, Shri A K Gautam SDM & Dy. Collector Halol, Shri S N Katara Mamlatdar Halol, Smt. Vibhaxiben Desai Nagar Palika President and other Corporators of Nagar Palika Halol.
As part of the MG Seva, MG Motor India, in the past months, have launched various initiatives such as the MG Healthline, which provides its customers with a 24×7 medical assistance helpline. Back in April 2021, the automaker had partnered with Devnandan Gases Pvt. Ltd. in Gujarat and ramped up the oxygen production by 36% at one of the latter’s plants in Vadodara within a month. They soon plan to increase this figure to 50% in the coming months.
Previously, the automaker also provided Hector ambulances that were custom-built by MG engineers at their Halol plant. MG states that several of these ambulances are also functioning in Gujarat and Maharashtra in a bid to serve the affected in case of a medical emergency. MG has also recently offered 200 beds for Covid-19 patients in Gurugram with an online healthcare platform Credihealth while also raising funds for and distributing biodegradable bedsheets to the affected in Pune.
