Powering the entire 2021 Mini range is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 189bhp and 280Nm of torque and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The JCW, on the other hand, is powered by the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Still, it churns out a 228bhp and 320Nm of torque which is significantly more than the standard 3-door and Convertible. In the JCW, the gearbox offered is an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Mini claims that the 3-door can do the 0 to 100km/h stint in 6.7 seconds, whereas the Convertible takes 7.1 seconds. The JCW does the same stint in just 6.1 seconds.
Compared to its current generation, all three MINI’s feature subtle exterior changes along with updated LED headlights and taillights. Both the 3-door and Convertible gets the updated LED headlights which have the fog lights integrated into them. Even the front air intakes are now vertically stacked and are in line with the hexagonal radiator grille. Meanwhile, the JCW continues to carry the sportier look with its aggressive front end. Some aerodynamic features include the front apron with integral air ducts, side sills distinctive to the JCW variant. 17-inch alloys are standard across the MINI range, with the option to upgrade to an 18-inch John Cooper Works Course Spoke 2-tone is available.
The changes are subtle on the inside too, the MINI range features a digital driver’s display, a new multifunctional steering wheel and the 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment is also updated. Buyers can also opt for the Mini wired package, which adds built-in navigation and wireless charging. At the same time, buyers can also opt for Apple CarPlay and Harmon Kardon speakers. Like the previous generation, the interiors can be customised with a chequered flag design or a subtle aluminium design.
