Since the beginning of the year, everybody has been excited about the arrival of the all-new 2020 Hyundai i20. It all started with a rumour at the beginning of the year, followed by several sketches, spy shots, leaks, and everything to make us even more impatient and excited about the car. After launching the premium hatchback throughout the globe, Hyundai Motor India has finally announced the commencement of bookings for the all-new i20, in India.

Thanks to the pandemic and digitalization, customers can now book the all-new 2020 Hyundai i20, online through the Hyundai Click to Buy platform or at Hyundai Dealerships across the country for Rs 21 000. The carmaker has also confirmed that the national launch event for the new i20, is scheduled for November 05, 2020.

What about variants and transmission options?

The carmakers have understood, that the Indian market has different types of customers with different needs. To provide customers with a wide range of options is the only path towards a successful trajectory in Indian markets. Hyundai and Kia are known for their wide variety of options, which have helped them penetrate the market more than their rivals.

Continuing this strategy, Hyundai will be offering the all-new i20 in Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O) variants. Further, customers will get the right to choose from a variety of petrol, diesel, and turbo petrol BS6 engines and transmission options that include (First-in-Segment) Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), 7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) and a proper Manual Transmissions.

As per the Korean giant, the all-new i20 is the epitome of Hyundai Global Design Philosophy – ‘Sensuous Sportiness’, of presenting customers with a Premium Car showcasing Sleek, Agile and Progressive dimensions. Hyundai also claims that through its charismatic stance, the all-new i20 incorporates a seamlessly integrated blend of advanced and modern character lines that are effortlessly alluring.

What you should know before booking:

Hyundai will also offer customers a wide choice of colour options on the all-new i20 including Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night, and Metallic Copper. The carmaker will also offer Dual Tone colour options, which include Polar White with Black Roof or Fiery Red with Black Roof.

To facilitate added benefits for new-age customers and to promote digitalization, the carmaker will allow a 10 % cashback on booking amount transactions made through the Hyundai Click to Buy using ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank Credit or Debit cards.

Performance and features:

On the performance front, the all-new Hyundai i20 will come with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine, and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine for enthusiasts in India.

The transmission duties will be performed with a 5-speed manual and Hyundai’s iVT automatic gearbox, in the 1.2-litre engine. While the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine will be offered with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox or a manual iMT gearbox. Also, the 1.5-litre diesel engine is expected to be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

On the feature front, the new Hyundai i20 is expected to arrive with a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Hyundai’s ‘BlueLink’ connected car tech. Apart from these, the new i20 is also expected to come with a digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, bose sound system, and ventilated front seats.
