The new Hyundai Creta has carried on the legacy of the older car as is reflected in the sales figures. Even though it has been criticised for its looks, the tech and features on offer are plentiful which makes it a complete package for the Indian market. We review the technology and interesting features that are on offer below.
Bose sound system
For me, this is the standout feature of the Creta. The added insulation levels also help the experience. But the overall music system is amazing and this could be a helpful companion if stuck in our never-ending traffic snarls. It gets eight speakers that deliver an amazing experience whether listening to the radio or on Bluetooth. The Bass is extremely rich and carries through in the entire car. This is the kind of music system which will make you sit in the car for those extra few minutes even after reaching your destination.
Infotainment screen and instrument panel
Both the screens on the Creta are of high quality and are extremely easy to use. The infotainment system particularly is wide and placed more to the driver’s field of vision which helps in concentrating on the road. To toggle through the screens is also an easy job and to top it all the responsiveness of the touch screen is excellent.
The Blue Link system of the Hyundai Creta is even more advanced than the Verna and it displays over 50 connectivity features about the car. These include the tire pressure monitoring system, driver information, car alerts, remote car functions. You can also perform functions such as opening or closing the sunroof, adjusting the climate control, navigation control, vehicle tracking, etc. Everything can be accessed from the mobile phone app itself.
The Creta strives to be the most convenient in its segment. The placement of the mirror controls is high and therefore easily accessible. It gets automatic headlights along with a wireless charger. The electrically adjustable seats also add to the experience. It gets an auto-hold function as well as an electric parking brake. Both of these become extremely handy when driving in traffic. The Navigation app of the car is one that is easy to use and can save you some additional time by providing you with real time traffic updates
Additional quirky features
The new Creta gets an air purifier with an AQI index. In these times, this would be a useful feature as well. It also makes use of a wireless charger like many others in this segment. The Creta features certain gimmicks like a welcome sound and a graphic shown on the instrument panel once you enter the car. The ventilated seats are also one of the best seen in the Creta’s segment. It gets buttons on the rear-view mirror that are for SOS services, Blue Link connection and to call a towing van if ever a need arises. The Creta also features rear sun shades for added privacy.
Surely, one can spend the whole day just browsing through the tech and features of the car. The Creta has successfully captured the Indian market which is feature obsessed.
