Ola Electric has announced the sale of its electric scooters in India. Customers can finally purchase the Ola S1 and S1 Pro via the Ola App only. In terms of pricing, the Ola S1 has priced at Rs 1 lakh while the S1 Pro is priced at Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom, India), respectively. Furthermore, the price mentioned includes the Fame II subsidiary but excludes the state-wise subsidiary. Deliveries for these electric scooters to start from next month. The brand is beginning test rides for the S1 and S1 Pro from the 15th of October 2021 in specific cities across India.
The Ola S1 is powered by a 2.89kWh battery pack, while the S1 Pro comes with a 3.97kWh battery pack. That means that both the variants produce the same power and torque figures, 11.3bhp and 58Nm, to be precise. Where both scooters differentiate is in the range and performance they offer. While the S1 provides a claimed range of 121kms and boasts a 0 to 40km/h time of 3.6 seconds. The S1 Pro has a claimed range of 181kms and does the 0 to 40km/h sprint in just 3 seconds.
Additionally, the S1 has a top speed of 90km/h, while the S1 Pro has a top speed of 115km/h. Customers can expect a charge time of around 4 hours and 48 minutes for the S1 and 6 hours and 30 minutes for the S1 Pro using the home charger. When charged with a fast charger, both scooters can gain a range of 75kms in 18 minutes.
As of now, Ola has stated that they will deliver the scooter depending on the dates of the reservation. Customers who paid the Rs 499 deposit to book their scooter when it was announced will receive the electric scooter first. They can make an advance payment of Rs 20,000 as soon as they are notified to purchase their S1 and S1 Pro. Furthermore, Ola Electric also offers customers finance options for their electric scooters, with all of the paperwork being done virtually.
