Porsche announces launch of the new Panamera

2021 Porsche Panamera

Porsche India announces the launch of the new generation Panamera in India. Customers have the option between 4 versions – Panamera, Panamera GTS, Panamera Turbo S, and the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. Deliveries for the first few units of the Panamera have already begun via Porsche’s authorized dealerships.

Under the hood of the Porsche Panamera Turbo S is a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 which churns out 621bhp and 820Nm. It has a claimed top speed of 315km/h and covers the 0 to 100km/h stint in just 3.1 seconds. But if that isn’t powerful enough, buyers can opt for the Turbo S E-Hybrid version in which the V8 is coupled with a 134bhp electric motor which bumps up the power to 690bhp and 870bhp which is 69bhp and 50Nm more than the Turbo S. Porsche claims that the top speed of the Turbo S E-Hybrid is 315km/h out of which 140km/h is solely on the electric engine.

The GTS too uses the same 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 as the Turbo and E-Hybrid but it produces 473bhp and 620Nm which is a hike of 19bhp over the previous generation GTS. A 2.9-litre V6 Panamera which makes 326bhp and 450Nm is also on offer for customers for whom power isn’t the first agenda. All four engines are mated to Porsche’s highly acknowledged 8-speed PDK automatic gearbox.

All the variants come with standard tech such as: Apple CarPlay, LED Matrix headlights, Park Assist with a 360-degree camera and heads-up display. Apart from this, customers have a whole host of optional extras to choose from such as the Porsche active management suspension (PCM), Porsche dynamic chassis control (PDCC) and the Porsche torque vectoring plus (PVT Plus) and many more to personalize their Panamera.

Manolito Vujicic, recently appointed Brand Head of Porsche India says: “We are excited to introduce the new Panamera to all visitors at our dealerships across the country. With its best-in-class performance, enhanced comfort and chassis management and a sharper, sportier visual appearance, the new Panamera is a true four-door sports and a true luxury saloon. We are confident that the Panamera will drive our momentum in 2021, with more additions to our model range to come.”

Porsche India has also launched the Panamera 4 10 Years Edition which celebrates the 10 years of the Panamera’s production lifecycle which started back in 2009. The 10-year edition will be available in very limited quantities for buyers to opt for.
