Hyundai Motor India Ltd launched the 2020 Verna – refreshing the brand’s mid-size sedan offering. While the updated Verna largely retains the silhouette of the outgoing version, there are a host of styling tweaks that differentiate it from the latter and the revised equipment list makes it more appealing to a wider audience. Here are six segment-first features that are unique to the Verna.
Hello Blue Link
You’ll never travel singly in the Verna, Hyundai’s personal mobility assistant Blue Link will always be accompanying you, ready for your next command. It comes with a responsive and dynamic telematics platform that acts as a communication channel between you and your car. With the Verna, there are a host of 45 features that are supported by Blue Link, with some functionalities extending to your smartphones as well.
Digital instrument cluster
The Verna is the first to incorporate a fully digital instrument cluster that also houses a 4.2-inch multi-information display in the center, ditching the traditional needles and counters completely. While the display with the graphical representation takes some time getting used to, it offers good readability even during the day.
Currently being offered across all cars like the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, Venue, Creta and Elantra, the wireless charging dock offers an uncluttered charging experience. Ofcourse, provided your device supports the same as well.
Ventilated front seats
These are a boon for the India driving conditions. With a speed-adjustable control, the front ventilated seats ensure the front occupants are in the utmost comfort. If only they were offered in the rear seats as well.
Hands-free boot opening
The addition of the key proximity sensor is great, although it seems to have a mind of its own at times. When it does function, it’s an easy task to throw in your luggage.
Emergency stop signal
In-case of sudden braking, the rear lights flash frequently to alert following vehicles which then helps in avoiding rear-end collision.
