The sports adventurer tourer segment is growing at a rapid phase as the new genre of motorcycling is tastefully connecting with the Indian consumer recently. Suzuki Motorcycle India wants to grab a pie of those aspiring ADV customer base with its all-new 250cc sports adventure tourer, V-Strom SX.
The V-Strom SX looks like a scaled-down version of its bigger sibling V-Strom 650 and comes with shared design elements from Gixxer 250. Moreover, V-Strom SX is based on the same platform as the Gixxer 250. Suzuki says the beak design of its sports adventure tourer is inspired by legendary DR-Z racer and DR- BIG off-road models and has been remade specifically for the V-Strom SX.
The V-Strom SX gets stylish LED Octagonal shaped headlights that provide a sleek look to the bike. It is built under the design concept, “Toughness in a Slender Shell”, which makes its toughness from its rugged, adventure-inspired looks and confidence-inspiring chassis. Suzuki claims its agile handling and lightweight body make it simple to manoeuvre through the city.Well, we can not comment on its riding abilities until we get our hands on it.
The V-Strom SX gets a 249cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, oil cooler, SOHC engine and comes mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine churns out around 26bhp of power and 22Nm of torque. The bike is now 11-kg heavier than the Gixxer 250, weighing around 167kg. It has a 19-inch front alloy wheel and a 17-inch rear alloy wheels. Both the wheels comes with dual-purpose tyres. The bike gets a respectable 205 mm of ground clearance with 835mm of seat height.
The bike will also come with hefty features to enhance riding experience. It comes equipped with a USB charging port and a digital LCD screen with bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, etc. It also comes with sensors to provide data to the electronic fuel injection to monitor and deliver the ideal amount of fuel to match the riding conditions. Powered by SEP Technology, Suzuki V-Strom SX promises to deliver high fuel efficiency without compromising on performance.

The bike will face serious competition with Royal Enfield Himalayan, recently launched Royal Enfield Scram 411 , Yezdi Adventure and KTM Adventure 250.
