Tata Motors has spruced up their premium hatchback, the Altroz with the addition of a new turbo-petrol engine to the portfolio. The Altroz i-Turbo is available in the XT, XZ and a newly introduced XZ+ trim levels priced at Rs 8.25 lakh for the XZ+ Petrol, Rs 9.45 lakh for the XZ+ Diesel and prices start at Rs 7.73 lakh for the XT i-Turbo and the XZ+ iTurbo is Rs 8.85 lakh respectively (ex-showroom) . Prices mentioned above are introductory will be available for a limited time period only. Customers can also avail a new paint color scheme called ‘Harbour Blue’ which is available from the XM+ trim onwards. The exterior and interior of the Altroz sees no change apart from a new black and grey theme, leatherette treatment for the seats, customization options for the 7.0-inch infotainment wallpaper and two tweeters up front.
Powering the Altroz i-Turbo is a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine which delivers 108bhp and 140Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox sending power to the front wheels. A DCT automatic gearbox is in the works for the Altroz but Tata hasn’t confirmed as to when will that be available. The i-Turbo also features a Sport mode along with the standard City mode for better engine response.
Tata has also introduced a new connected mobile application called iRA (Intelligent Real-Time Assist) which offers users with 27 different features. Some features such as remote commands, access to the vehicle’s security remotely, Live vehicle diagnosis and other location-based services. These features will only be available to buyers who opt for the XZ+ trim level.
