India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors, has supplied the first lot of 25 Tata Winger Ambulances to the health department of Gujarat. These 25 ambulances are part of a larger order of 115 ambulances ordered by the health department of Gujarat. Various dignitaries graced the vehicle’s induction ceremony, which was held in Gandhinagar. Notable dignitaries from the Gujarat State Cabinet included Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat – Shri Nitin Patel, Hon’ble Health Minister of Gujarat – Shri Kishor Kanani, Principal Secretary – Health and Family welfare department – Dr Jayanti S. Ravi, IAS Commissioner- Health & Family welfare department – Shri Jai Prakash Shivhare, IAS COO GVK EMRI Gujarat – Shri Jashvant Prajapati and other dignitaries from Govt. of Gujarat.

Tata Motors state that all 25 ambulances are equipped with essential life support and will be deployed for patients’ aid immediately. The automaker won the bid to supply the ambulances under the government e-marketplace. The design of the ambulances is meant to comply with patient transport as per AIS 125 Part 1. The remaining 90 ambulance shells will be delivered in a phase-wise manner, states Tata Motors.

The Tata Motors Winger Ambulance is designed and adapted to cater to all types of patient transportation, including Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support range. The ambulance is engineered especially for COVID-19 patient transportation, with a driver partition. Its modular underpinnings and monocoque chassis, in addition to the independent suspension, offer a smooth driving experience, which is highly critical for the swift transportation of patients. Tata Motors offers the most comprehensive range of ambulances from Magic Express Ambulance, Winger Ambulance and LP410 Ambulance, with a double stretcher.
