It’s finally a movement of alleviation for all Tata Altroz aspiring buyers, who have been kept away with the ease of automatic transmission. Since its launch in 2020, the Altroz was only offered with a manual gearbox option, which is set to change today as the brand launched the advanced 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The automatic gearbox will come mated with the 1.2L Revotron naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out 86hp of power and 113Nm of torque.

Tata Motors claims that Altroz DCA (dual-clutch automatic gearbox) is specially designed for Indian consumers,the world’s first DCT with a planetary gear system. The DCA version of India’s premium and safest hatchback is equipped with several segment-first features. These include a Wet clutch with active cooling technology, Machine learning, Shift by wire technology, Self-healing mechanism, and Auto park lock. The Altroz DCA gets a host of comfort features such as premium leatherette seats, auto headlamps, 7-inch touchscreen by Harman, 7-inch TFT digital cluster, rear AC vents, and iRA connected car technology.

The Altroz DCA gets a brand-new Opera Blue colour. In addition, the Altroz DCA will be a part of the Dark range other than being available in the Downtown Red, Arcade Grey, Avenue White and Harbour Blue colour. The price for Altroz DCA starts with Rs 8.10 lakhs and goes all the way up to Rs 9.90 lakhs for the top of line XZ+ Dark edition.The Altroz DCA will go up against Hyundai i20 N Line with DCT gearbox, recently launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno AMT, VW Polo TSI automatic and Honda Jazz CVT.
