Tata Motors, the brand synonymous with the electric revolution in India, has now upped its electric game even more by introducing its long-range Nexon EV MAX. It was a long time coming for those who wished more practical range from the Nexon EV. The updated 2022 Nexon EV MAX gets a high voltage state-of-the-art Ziptron technology available in two trim options – the Nexon EV MAX XZ+ and Nexon EV MAX XZ+ Lux.

The Nexon EV MAX get a more significant 40.5 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack that promises an ARAI certified range of 437 km. The actual range may vary in real-world situations, but the claimed range is respectable enough to keep you away from the range anxiety. Moreover, the Nexon EV MAX will be available with two charger options – a 3.3 kW charger or a 7.2 kW AC fast charger. The 7.2 kW AC fast charger can be installed either at home or at the workplace, which helps in reducing charging time to 6.5 hrs. Furthermore, the Nexon EV MAX will support a faster charging of 0 – 80% in just 56 mins from any 50 kW DC rapid charger. The Nexon EV MAX also gets a more powerful 143hp motor that delivers 250 Nm of torque that can go from 0-100 in 9 seconds.

There aren’t any noticeable changes on the outside, but Nexon EV MAX gets brimmed with upgraded features on the inside. It now receives a Jewelled Control Knob with active mode display, all-new Makarana beige interiors, leatherette seats with ventilation for front passengers, air purifier, wireless smartphone charging, auto-dimming IRVM and cruise control.

Tata has always been known for its safety standards, and its Nexon EV MAX is no different. It gets an IP67 rated battery pack. Moreover, enhanced safety features like ESP with i-VBAC (intelligent – Vacuum-less Boost & Active Control), Hill Hold, Hill Descent Control and Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Vehicle Hold are also provided.
The prices start at Rs 17,74,000 lakh for the Nexon EV MAX XZ+ variant and goes up to Rs 19,24,000 lakhs for Nexon EV MAX XZ+ Lux variant with a 7.2 kW AC Fast Charger. It is still relatively competitive compared with MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona.
