Tata Safari launched at Rs 14.69 lakh

Indian automaker, Tata has just launched their newest full-size SUV, the Safari earlier today. Prices for the Safari start at an introductory price of Rs 14.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for the Safari had already begun earlier this month and deliveries to soon commence.

At the launch Tata also showcased an ‘Adventure’ persona trim option with offers buyers with some unique features such as some piano black trim pieces on the exterior as on the front grille, roof rail inserts, door handles and also on the badges. On the inside, the white interiors are replaced with a tan coloured seats and dark chrome accents on the air vents, knob, switches, inner door handle and instrument cluster along with a piano black interior pack on steering wheel, grab handles, floor console frame and IP mid pad finisher. What will also be unique to the ‘Adventure’ persona spec is the option of the Tropical Mist exterior paint colour.

Speaking on the launch of the new Safari, Mr. Guenter Butschek, MD and CEO, Tata Motors said, “The Safari as our new flagship is connecting the aspirations of the discerning and evolved SUV customers. It tops the ‘New Forever’ range of cars and SUVs launched in 2020 and marks another milestone in Tata Motors’ strategic transformation. The new Safari is an impressive endorsement of our stated intend of enhancing presence in the faster growing market segments. Its exceptional build quality and premium finish, power and performance augment the brand’s iconic legacy and amplify the key traits of the ‘New Forever’ range – safety, style, drivability and best-in-class features. We will make the Safari rule the Indian roads once again.”

As compared to its rivals, the Tata Safari is priced marginally higher than the MG Hector Plus which is priced at Rs 13.35 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and the Mahindra XUV500, which is priced at Rs 13.83 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Also worth mentioning is that the MG recently revamped the Hector Plus by adding more features on the exterior and interior whereas the Mahindra XUV500 is due for complete generation change in the near future which could further intensify the competition in the full-size SUV segment in India.
