Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced that it will open bookings for the upcoming Urban Cruiser from 22nd August 2020. Those interested can then put down an amount Rs 11,000 to secure their own Urban Cruiser. Folks at Toyota also tell us that the Urban Cruiser will come equipped the K-Series 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. To add to that, there will be two transmission options – a five-speed manual and four-speed automatic (torque converter). Also, the automatic variants will get mild-hybrid technology.
Similar to the Fortuner-inspired front grille and LED-laden front headlamp cluster, expect the Urban Cruiser to have subtle yet distinctive tweaks to its design all around to differentiate it from part Indian, part Japanese cousin. Just like the Baleno/Glanza deal before, the Urban Cruiser will also have its own personality. One particular area where it has the edge is the three-year/one lakh kilometres standard warranty.
Sharing his thoughts on the opening of bookings, Naveen Soni, Senior Vice President, Sales and Services, TKM, said, “We are very excited about our latest offering- the Urban Cruiser, as it has already started receiving a lot of attention & enquiries from interested customers. We understand that our customers would like to know more about the new vehicle from Toyota, so that they can make an informed decision about the vehicle of their choice, this festive season. Hence, we wanted to further aid our customers with more information about the car before opening our bookings.”
Furthermore, the Urban Cruiser will get dual-tone dark brown interiors, keyless entry with engine push start/stop button and automatic climate control. Then there’s also the Smart Playcast touchscreen audio with Android Auto/Apple Carplay and smartphone-based navigation, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control and auto-dimming rearview mirror and more.
