Volkswagen India has equipped the Comfortline trim on the Polo with an automatic gearbox. Mind you, this only comes with the 1.0-litre TSI-equipped Polo. The Polo Comfortline TSI AT is effectively the cheapest way of experiencing that sweet three-pot motor, with an automatic gearbox, that is. VW has priced the said trim at Rs 8.51 lakh (ex-showroom) for non-metallic colours. For metallic colours, the price goes up by another Rs 10,000.
Speaking of which, the Polo Comfortline can be had with Flash Red, Sunset Red, Candy White, Reflex Silver and Carbon Steel as colour options. Other features present on this variant include automatic climate control and a seven-inch Blaupunkt music system. In case you’re wondering, that automatic gearbox is still the six-speed torque converter. That 1.0-litre Turbocharged Stratified Injection (TSI) produces 108.5 bhp and 175 Nm of torque, just like before.
Furthermore, those interested in this variant or any other trim of the Polo can book their slot online, as well. If you look closely, there’s also an ‘offer price of the month’ which we presume is a discount displayed according to the trim. Another thing most of you will notice is the price of the Highline Plus model. It currently retails at which retails at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and has more kit than the Comfortline model, too. That’s simply because it’s equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.
In short, if you want the AT-equipped Polo, the Comfortline trim is the most affordable option. On the other hand, if you want more of the manual experience, the Highline Plus is your best bet. You also get added kit this way – cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming IRVM and sixteen-inch alloy wheels. However, there’s an even more affordable way of experiencing that 1.0-litre TSI engine. Any guesses?
