It is only a matter of hours before we witness Citroen’s new compact SUV for India, the C3. Citroen has released nothing but a small teaser of the C3 and the exterior is in line with their design language.

However, the bigger draw is the fact that the Citroen C3 is made in India, for Indians so the pricing is expected to be aggressive. Citroen has only revealed a faint image of the front of the car which hints at the design. You have the now-common look of the DRLs on top and headlamps on the bottom, the DRLs in fact have a sharp layout and blend in well with the grille. Speaking of which, the grille is nice and chunky and features the big double chevron logo with pride along with a good dash of chrome. There is also a massive front air intake with cuts for the front bumpers.

The profile and rear view aren’t available yet for the Citroen C3, but a little bit of online digging will uncover some scale model images that give a better idea of how it might look. It leans towards the bigger C5 Aircross quite a bit which means there are likely to be a good amount of small details and styling elements. The wheels too are expected to be funky and the rear in line with the C5 Aircross as well. Body cladding is something that will be a characteristic bit on the Citroen C3 giving it that rough and tough appeal.

What will power the Citroen C3 is likely to be a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with the option of a manual and automatic gearbox. Details for the same will be confirmed on the 16th of September. The localisation will allow Citroen to price the C3 rather aggressively, which means the current SUVs like the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite will have some serious competition. It is set for a 2022 launch, but as far as the unveil is concerned, you will only have to wait a few hours from now.
