Thanks to the BS6-era, we’ve seen an increase in the price of automobiles, right across the board. However, Yamaha Motor India recently announced revised pricing for its popular FZ25 and FZS 25 models. Just recently, there had been an increase in the input costs, which lead to an increased ex-showroom price. However, folks at Yamaha Motor India have finally been able to bring down these input costs, hence slashed prices. In fact, it’s a benefit of almost Rs 20,000. Pretty good, right? Can we have one for the MT-15 and R-15, too?
The Yamaha FZ 25 now costs Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the Yamaha FZS 25 retails at Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Both the FZ 25 and FZS 25 are powered by a 249cc, air-cooled, SOHC engine which produces 20.5 bhp @8,000rpm and 20.1 Nm @6,000rpm. It still comes mated to a six-speed gearbox, and besides this, remains the same as before. Moreover, that slash in the price has made it a much worthier competitor in the 250cc space.
We’ve also spoken to Yamaha Motor India recently regarding a whole lot of things in our upcoming June issue. The company has a whole lot of plans for India, which we’re pretty excited about, to be honest. In our interview with Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India, we speak about what’s next for the company. We won’t say much now but do watch but there will be a greater push in the ‘Blue Square’ premium stores across India.
