Are you a fan of energy drinks and motorcycle racing? If you are and happen to be a fan of Fabio Quartararo and the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team, then you’re in luck. India Yamaha Motor has just introduced Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition for the FZ 25. It’s priced at Rs 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is just a couple of thousands more than the standard FZ 25. Yamaha states that this new edition will be available to customers by the end of July 2021, in limited numbers. Given the kind of bikes Yamaha sells abroad, it is a little disheartening to see the range we get here in India.
Nevertheless, this new FZ 25 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition proudly wears its Yamaha MotoGP branding on the tank shrouds, the fuel tank and side panels. That’s it. There is absolutely no other change whatsoever. It’s still powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder motor capable of producing 20.8 bhp and 20.1 Nm of peak torque. The five-speed gearbox remains the same as well. What’s more, Yamaha has said that there will be more models inspired by the company’s MotoGP team. A YZF-R15 or MT-15 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition, perhaps? Makes sense, doesn’t it?
On this occasion, the Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group of companies, Motofumi Shitara said, “The spirit of The Call of the Blue is born from Yamaha’s Racing DNA. This year our performance in MotoGP has been exceptional. Till now we are #1 in all three Standings – Team, Constructor and Rider. As a brand, our objective is to bring global racing excitement onto Indian roads and today, we are launching the FZ 25 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition for Indian customers. Going forward, the company will continue to introduce more exciting products as a part of its brand commitment to India.”
