The upcoming few months will witness the onslaught of not only new motorcycles from the manufacturers already present in India but some overseas players as well. It hasn’t been long since Italian bikemaker Moto Morini announced its entry into the Indian market and now, a Chinese manufacturer that goes by the name Zontes is also looking forward to causing some ruckus in the lower end of the spectrum. Both the brands will be brought to the Indian shores, riding piggyback on Adishwar Auto Ride India, the firm responsible for the respawning of Benelli in India and the arrival of Keeway as well.
Unlike most Chinese bikemakers, Zontes is particularly renowned for its unique and distinctive-looking motorcycles.
In a press statement, Zontes has made it apparent that it is going to bring in as many as 5 motorcycles to the Indian market but it hasn’t revealed which motorcycles we will be getting. However, the teaser video posted by the company on its Instagram handle has revealed that the GK 350 café racer will hail the ceremonial proceedings. If this is indeed the case, we don’t know any reason why Zontes shouldn’t bring in its other 350cc motorcycles because they do have an extensive portfolio. Its 350cc range includes the likes of 350D maxi-scooter, 350V cruiser, 350R streetfighter and 350T adventure bike.
All the motorcycles derive their performance from a 349cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that puts down 39hp at 9500rpm and 33nm at 7500rpm. This level of performance will put it on par with the other motorcycles in its class like the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the 390 range from the Orange Brigade. Not only in terms of their razor-sharp styling but Zontes motorcycles are also high on features like keyless ignition, ride modes, TFT full-colour display, dual fast-charging USB ports and dual-channel ABS.
Zontes currently has a presence in over 55 countries including the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Brazil, Malaysia, and Thailand, among others.
