Camp Jeep is an off-road experience by Jeep India, where anyone can test out any vehicle from Jeep India’s lineup, including the Jeep Compass, Jeep Meridian, Wrangler, and the Grand Cherokee. The idea is to show potential customers what these cars are truly capable of—both on and off the road.
Jeep invited us to experience Camp Jeep, and it was a unique adventure. Professionals sit alongside you and guide you through some of the trickiest terrains—50-degree inclines, off-road ramps, axle articulation zones, and everything in between. The one-on-one session lasts around 15 minutes, during which the instructors do their best to make you feel at home in the cars, sharing useful tips that will come in handy if you ever go off-roading. The terrain selected for the Mumbai Camp was definitely not beginner-friendly, but the instructors did a great job of putting us at ease.
The cars themselves are immensely capable. We did a steep descent in the Jeep Compass—something I would have never attempted without professional supervision. Kudos to Jeep for truly letting us push their vehicles to the limit. Events like these help consumers understand the cars far better than any review or spec sheet ever could. The cherry on top? These Camp Jeep experiences are absolutely free for everyone.
In conclusion, I’m not going to ask you to go through the spec sheet of these cars or try and convince you that you need to have one of them in your garage. That’s not what this is about. What I will say is this—Camp Jeep is the kind of experience that gives you a whole new perspective on what these vehicles are built for. It’s one thing to read about 4x4 capabilities, ground clearance, or hill descent control, but it’s something else entirely to actually feel it in action, from the driver’s seat, under real conditions, with professionals guiding you every step of the way.

Even if you’re not looking to buy a new car right now, Camp Jeep is still worth checking out. It’s a fun experience that pushes you and the car just enough to show you what’s possible. Plus, it’s completely free—so there’s really no reason not to give it a shot.
I’m sure you will leave the event with a new appreciation for off-road driving, or simply with a big smile on your face, Camp Jeep is an experience that sticks with you. Who knows—you might just walk away thinking, “Yeah, I could see myself in one of these.”
